Frequently Asked Questions

See Images Below.

We use the Medlite laser ( Q-switch Nd:Yag laser) which has multiple wavelengths to target multiple colors. The laser directs energy at the ink in your tattoo for a fraction of a second. The laser energy passes harmlessly through your skin to target the tattoo ink directly. The laser fragments the ink into smaller components, which allows your body to absorb the ink and process it naturally over the next few weeks.

You cannot do the treatments if you are:

1) Pregnant or breast feeding

2) Immunocompromised

3) History of Lupus

4) Have tattooed make up to be treated

5) Ink Allergy

6) On Gold products ( usually used for arthritis)

Because each person and every tattoo is unique, everyone responds to laser tattoo removal treatments differently. Some colors such as black, may respond immediately with a white/gray frosting. Some people notice a distinct visual change with every single treatment, while others people may not see any change for a few treatments. When you follow our clinical staff's advice, you ensure yourself the best results as soon as possible.

Tattoo removal treatments are uncomfortable, but easily tolerable. They are also completed very quickly. Numbing cream is prescribed and placed before the session. In addition, during your treatment we cool your skin with a device specifically designed to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. You may also opt for an injectable local anesthesia.

We use the medically recognized Kirby- Desai tattoo removal scale to estimate within 2 treatments the number of sessions you will need. Most tattoos can be removed in 6-12 sessions, spaced apart 6-8 weeks. Some Variables which affect the removal process are:

1. Skin color (we can treat all skin colors)

2. Color(s) of the tattoo

3. Location of the tattoo

4. Amateur or professionally placed tattoos

5. Extent of design

We can remove most colors from tattoos. Darker colors such as Black respond easiest, other colors such as reds, orange, yellow, dark blue and brown can also be treated by the laser. Green and Purple tend to be the most resistant colors. While some colors require more treatments than other colors, even the most challenging colors will usually fade to a point where they're nearly impossible to see.
